Conceptual Mastery

The MOE syllabus upper primary mathematics cover increasingly abstract topics. We recognise that students commonly tend to struggle with topics such as fractions and percentage. we believe in providing conceptual mastery for upper primary math students. We recognize that simply memorizing procedures and formulas is not enough for long-term success in math. Instead, we focus on helping students truly understand the underlying concepts behind math problems, so that they can approach new problems with confidence and flexibility.

Mastering Problem-Solving Skills

With the PSLE in mind, we recognize that problem-solving is a critical skill, and we aim to equip our students with the tools and strategies they need to tackle complex problems confidently. We achieve this through coaching students on how to identify task requirements in problems, and to explore different solutions to the same problem. We also provide individualized attention and support to each student, guiding them through problem-solving techniques and helping them develop their own problem-solving strategies.

Heuristic Strategies

As problem sums become increasingly complex, students are taught heuristic strategies, including real-world examples, hands-on activities, and interactive problem-solving exercises. We teach students to approach problems systematically by breaking them down into smaller, more manageable parts. We also emphasize the importance of checking their work and being aware of common mistakes.

Fostering An Analytical Mind

We recognise that an analytical though process is essential for success not only in math, but also in other areas of academic and personal life. We encourage active learning through problem-solving exercises that require students to analyze and interpret data, identify patterns and relationships, and make logical conclusions. In addition, we push students to explore alternative solutions and approaches to problems, fostering creativity and independent thinking.
